Lee Kohse – Creator

Lee’s adventure began when he was born.  At the age of 2 he was sold into white slavery to support his mother’s addiction to beta format video rentals. After years of mining dust for spaghetti western films, Lee’s creative abilities began to manifest as he drew in the dirt with a stick.  He soon came to find himself a member of the Amish Mafia family attempting to corner the market on Velvet Elvis paintings and hand made cabinetry in North America.  After being kicked out of the Amish Mafia for owning a calculator, Lee settled in San Diego and took up art full time in the mid 90’s.

In 1996 Lee co-founded the indie comic publisher, BloodFire Studios (bloodfire.com) and created Kindergoth. Today, Lee is the Creative Director of BloodFire Studios, where he spends his time creating new comics and is also involved in developing and producing several Bloodfire properties into feature films and television series.

As a freelance artist, he has produced art for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, Marvel, IDW, Indiana Jones, Angel, Nike, Reebok, Verizon, and many more. Lee is also a regular sketch card contributor to Topps and Rittenhouse Archives. Outside of the studio, Lee is a contributing author to Photoshop Cafe, producing instructional videos on traditional painting techniques in a digital environment and is a technical adviser to several of Thompson Learning’s digital art text books.
